Chris and Trish Meyer provide a video tutorial on the Artbeats website that demonstrates how to use lights and 3D layers to project a video onto other layers, such as onto a wall:

Personally my After Effects Tutorial site of choice is www.videocopilot.net, spearheaded by a gentleman by the name of Andrew Kramer out in CA. I started most of my knowledge on the program there. He's got over 100 video tutorials, as well as tons of free DLC including orignal plugins and effects.

A frequently updated site for After Effects tutorials is Quba HQ. His latest is scrolling LED text, but he's got a bunch of other neat tricks up his sleeve. http://qubahq.com/category/tutorialspresets/

One of the best creators of Avid tutorials that I have come across is Douglas Bruce. You can find his videos at the following link: http://community.avid.com/media/ .
His user name is drbgaijin. His videos range from the basics to more complex features such as creating subtitles in MC for authoring in Avid DVD and how to customize those subs in DVD.
A great free resource.

Hey hey here's the first tutorial. Probably not the best for a monumental first but one that I used about an hour ago.
It teaches you how to do that apple reflective surface thingy in final cut.
